Insights from the VP, Sales & Marketing 

This year at Tana, we’ve prioritized strengthening our team, expanding our global presence, and laying the groundwork for long-term growth. Throughout year 2024, we achieved several key milestones that have set us up for continued success. 

We began the year by enhancing our sales capabilities with strategic new hires. Panu Ärölä joined Tana as Sales Manager for Distribution, followed by Tapani Haavisto, who stepped into the role of Business Development Director. Most recently, Anu Söderena joined as Manager for the Nordics and Baltics. Together, they bring a wealth of experience and fresh perspectives that align perfectly with Tana’s global growth ambitions. 

At the same time, our dealer network expanded significantly. New dealership agreements were secured in Germany, Thailand, Mexico, and Botswana – markets that solidify Tana’s global footprint and ensure we are well-positioned to serve customers worldwide.

One of the standout achievements this year was gaining significant traction in the U.S. market. Recent tests and new customer collaborations in the U.S. waste management sector have marked important progress for Tana in one of the world’s most competitive and essential markets. To further support this progress, we deepened our collaboration with Tana North America, which ensure better market coverage and enhanced support for U.S. customers. 

Industry visibility also played a major role in 2024. With the worldwide network, Tana maintained a strong presence at major international trade events, including IFAT Munich, IFAT Brasil, Ecomondo in Italy, and Global CemFuels in Ireland, among others. Our local distributor also participated in numerous U.S.-based conferences and seminars. These events offered invaluable opportunities to highlight Tana’s innovations, engage with industry leaders, and connect directly with customers face-to-face.

In addition to trade events, our demo tours brought Tana’s solutions directly to customers, providing live product demonstrations in markets such as France, Germany, Poland, and Thailand. Seeing our machines operate in real-world conditions has consistently proven to build trust and confidence among both current and prospective customers. 

A defining moment for Tana in 2024 was securing new ownership. This change has brought a stronger ownership structure, providing us with the financial backing and strategic support needed to drive future growth and expansion. Following this transition, we have begun charting a new strategic path, one that brings Tana closer to our customers than ever before. Strengthening relationships, improving support, and affirming our solutions align with the needs of our partners are at the core of this renewed focus. 

As we look ahead, Tana is well-positioned for what’s next. With the right team in place, a growing global network of partners, and a clear strategy for the future, we remain committed to driving growth and delivering innovative solutions to the waste management industry.
